Program Objectives
The program is designed for individuals who are eager to have an exemplary career in the field of finance as practitioners or world class researchers. Applicants need not be already working in Financial sector neither they need to have a previous degree in Finance. The program is designed for those intending to pursue careers in companies, banking and non-banking financial institutions, or the public sector, with finance related responsibilities, or to stay in academics as researchers. For those already working in the field of finance, the courses will enhance their effectiveness by covering the latest developments in the field. For applicants whose previous knowledge is not in Finance will find this program a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive foundation and subsequent depth in the field. However, applicants must understand that MSc in Finance has a strong quantitative bias. Msc in Finance runs in the evening from 5:00 PM to 8:15 PM, Monday to Friday.
Eligibility for Admission
The basic requirement for admission to the MSc in Finance program is BBA, B.Com, BA, BSc, HND (Edexcel) or an equivalent degree. Those who have secured at least 2nd division with 45% marks at graduate level are eligible to apply. Qualifying the admission test and interview is compulsory. A candidate scoring less than 40% marks in the test shall stand disqualified for admission.
Rules/Regulations
Rules/regulations of IMSciences relating to Grading & Evaluation, GPA Requirements, Academic Calendar, Attendance, Withdrawal from Courses will be applicable to the MSc in Finance program.
For other matters, the admission rules of the IMSciences currently followed will be applicable,which are issued to all candidates along with prospectus.
Scheme of Courses
For the MSc in Finance program, a candidate will be required to complete the course work of at least 63 credit hours (including Research Dissertation /Project of 6 credit hours)..

Electives
Depending upon the available intellectual resources and the market needs, the programme coordinator can offer courses from the wide variety of electives
listed below or approved by the semester / academic committee of the institute from time to time.
Following the four intensive taught semesters, students will be expected to either write a single dissertation of minimum 10,000 words or they could take two smaller projects that may include writing at least one publishable research paper and report writing on some assigned mini project.
